It’s incredibly hot here this summer. Not surprising b/c DC is always a hot place in the summer but it’s like really oppressive this year. I don’t know if it was foolish or not but I went for a 2 hour run this morning. I started at 9 and didn’t stop until 11:15am. That’s like crazy b /c the sun is really strong then. Anyway, running has been one of those things I’ve been really into this year. It keeps me in shape and gives me plenty of time to think and enjoy the quiet.

Recipes for my book are coming along very well and almost finished. They’re being tested out west in Denver at high altitude so that will be prominently featured in the book. The minor changes for high altitude baking are cool and interesting. There are more recipes in me than I expected - and that’s a good thing! Looks like there will be someplace between 70-90 recipes, most of which will be cakes.
